South Indian Society

The South Indian Society was started more than 20 years ago by a few enthusiastic members of the Indian Tamil Community in the United Kingdom. It was started as an umbrella organisation aimed at bringing together the Indian Tamil families in the UK.

Today it is a full fledged organisation with a large number of members to its credit. The purpose of this Society is to promote the cultural diversity of the Tamil-speaking population from India. Preservation of our Indian Tamil culture & heritage through this organization helps to give individuals a sense of identity. The South Indian Society's Objectives are to advance education about all aspects of South Indian vedic culture, including language, religion and the arts particularly among children and young adults.

Today 20 May 2012 is Amavasai/Krithigai
